Rather than becoming despondent about AI, my pessimistic side assumes that things can go wrong and acts accordingly, all while giving the technology a fair chance. This is what I was looking for. I like the idea the author is presenting here, but I was hoping that he would focus more on what to do when you have a pessimistic thought. That is, using a pessimistic thought as a cue and reacting with thinking about it as an opportunity to improve something or even accepting it as a reality without approving or disapproving and coming up with a pragmatic response.
