- hcrisp 4y agoLeft landing gear collapsed when landing, causing it to skid off runway. More info: https://theaviationist.com/2022/03/18/weak-landing-gear-springs-caused-the-b-2-spirit-to-skid-off-runway-at-whiteman-afb-in-september/ https://theaviationist.com/2022/03/18/weak-landing-gear-spri...
- hcrisp 4y agoReport claims the damage estimate was $10M. Each bomber costs $1.1B, so it was 0.1% of the full unit cost. Similar to a $300 fender-bender on your $30K car. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2022/12/21/air-force-finally-clears-crashed-b-2-runway-amid-ongoing-safety-investigation.html https://www.military.com/daily-news/2022/12/21/air-force-fin...
