Ask HN: Do you use HN upvotes as bookmarks to your future self?
- mindcrime 4y agoYes, that's basically the only thing I use upvotes for. "Favorites" are useless IMO, since you can't access the "favorite" link from the front page.

- wruza 4y agoNo, I use browser bookmarks which eventually get sorted and migrate to a kanban or a bookmarks bar. It’s unlikely that I revisit something outside of this path.
- throwaway476287 4y agoI never thought about it this way, but it is nice and interesting browsing my upvote history. So probably in a subconscious way - yes.
- krapp 4y agoNo, that's what the 'favorite' link is for.
- latexr 4y agoFavourites are public but upvotes are private, which might be a reason to use the latter.
- latexr 4y agoNo, I bookmark comments with Pinboard¹.
