  Either through the waitlist, ~~more likely by subscribing to ChatGPT Plus which gives you instant API access.~~ Edit: Yeah, so I was wrong about the subscription.

    If I understand correctly, ChatGPT Plus only gives you access to GPT-4 in the online chat interface, not through the API.

  From the waitlist, I subscribed for it early on and got access just a few days ago.
