  The old Last Psychiatrist blog wrote alot about narcissism. Ultimately his advice to those who are narcissist was to 'fake it'. Just pretend act that you are a caring empathetic person including doing and saying all the things that a caring empathetic person would say and do. It won't change who you are, but it will spare the people around you. The guy did not mess around.
