Sucks for the investors, for sure. But if I had to chose between the investors getting wiped out or depositors I would go with investors. I am sure this affects pension funds, retirement accounts, and lot's of other portfolios that affect the average person. That being said, cash deposits in a bank making little to no interest should be the most protected from risk at the expense of all other instruments.
