Until recently we still had a concrete-made children slide [1] here in Romania, built in pure brutalist style back in the '60s. There was also one built in my home-town, and I guess in other towns throughout Eastern Europe. There's no way anything like that could ever get built again, and yet, we managed to don't kill ourselves as kids when we were sliding on them.
