Brave Be Hustling?
My Brave installation recently started showing a "VPN" button next to the top-right breadcrumbs menu, upon clicking it I see an advertisement for their Firewall+VPN offering (provided via a third party no less).
When your bank announces that it needs to urgently raise capital on distressed terms it is usually a good idea to take your money out. So what does it mean when a browser whose value proposition is in privacy and ad blocking starts to use its own screen real estate to advertise tie-in offerings ?

- jarsin 4y agoStop the presses! A privacy focused startup offers a new privacy focused product and wants to be paid for it, so you know, you are not the product. OMG how dare they!
- WebBloop 4y agoI don't mind that they're offering it and want to be paid for it, I mind them displaying a non-removable UI element as part of their privacy-focused product that forcibly reminds me of that fact. In other words, they are themselves doing via their product that which their users specifically use it to avoid.
