Ask HN: How do you know the human brain is not just a efficient GPT engine?
- h2odragon 4y agoHow did we know the brain wasn't a Babbage Engine? I still think that more cognition and personality takes place in the body than we understand; the brain is ascribed powers and responsibilities that will later be found to happen elsewhere. It wasn't all that long ago, really, that your question would've been about the liver.
