Are you interested in a terminal with AI integration?
I have my own terminal https://cogno.rocks and I'm thinking about integrating ChatGPT or a similar technology directly into the terminal. The task doesn't seem too difficult. At least using the ChatGPT API. I don't have much experience with it yet. Have you ever used an AI to search for terminal commands? Would it be helpful for you or do you have any concerns?
- rvz 4y agoI don't think I would want to send my terminal commands to ChatGPT and then have it randomly regurgitate a secret key on someone else's machine.
- biberklatsche 4y agoI mean chatgpt directly asking for commands you don't know. The commands you type into the shell are not sent to chatGPT. So basically a tab with a ChatGPT chat in the terminal, no direct connection to a shell-session. You save the detour through the browser. No idea how well this works.
- billconan 4y agoyou can try warp, it has an AI assistant.
- biberklatsche 4y agoYep, thanks for the tip. But Warp is only available for MacOS, and I use both MacOS and Windows, sometimes Linux. I don't want to have to switch between terminals. Even more important to me is the personalized autocompleter in Cogno. I don't want to lose it. It saves me a lot of time.
