Nowadays you can get the same factory service manual that your dealership/repair shop uses--it's all just a bunch of digital PDFs. In my experience factory service manuals, at least for GM cars, are orders of magnitude better than a Haynes manual.
- doubled112 4y agoIt has always been my understanding that a Haynes manual is a third party disassembling the car to show you how to disassemble the car. It makes sense that the people who built the car would have more details. With that said, as somebody who occasionally does some work on his own cars, I’ve found them very useful for every car I’ve ever owned.
