- tome 4y agoSeconded. ‘“Latest generation” is poorly-behaved’ is a tale as old as time. ‘“Latest generation” has lost interest in life” is something quite different.

- defrost 4y agoOld people complaining about the youth of today is a trope as old as written language: https://historyhustle.com/2500-years-of-people-complaining-about-the-younger-generation/ https://historyhustle.com/2500-years-of-people-complaining-a... https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20171003-proof-that-people-have-always-complained-about-young-adults https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20171003-proof-that-peo... https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/52209/15-historical-complaints-about-young-people-ruining-everything https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/52209/15-historical-comp...
- the-dude 4y agoThank you. Although I don't read that Aristotle quote as 'youth of today', but as of youth in general.
- moralestapia 4y agoMy point exactly, thanks. I'm not arguing against them being "different", I have noticed there's a true disinterest in life and going out and enjoying things that I haven't seen in the other groups that we share this slice of time with. Reminds me a bit of the Lost Generation, with a bit of that thing that happened in Sweden(?) where the youth revolted just because they didn't have much else to do but that. 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Generation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Generation
