There is one publicly revealed program along these lines that I'm aware of, and it's operated by one of the most secretive intelligence agencies, the NRO. It's called SENTIENT, and it's basically some kind of artificial brain that automatically analyzes intelligence from tons of different sources such as satellite imagery, radio chatter, weather, etc. https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/31/20746926/sentient-national-reconnaissance-office-spy-satellites-artificial-intelligence-ai https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/31/20746926/sentient-nationa... It's unclear from public reports how capable the program is, but the NRO is known to have tech that is decades ahead of the civilian world - feel free to look this up, it's true. So honestly, I'd say that there's a decent chance some kind of AGI has ALREADY been invented.

Thanks, honestly not sure if I’ve heard of it before, but here’s another more recent article with additional information: - https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/highly-classified-nro-system-captures-possible-tic-tac-object-in-2021/ https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/highly-classif... Which includes an official release on it: - https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2-27-2023-6-01-12-AM.jpg https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/wp-content/upl... * NRO maybe secretive, but they are well known for their special project patches. EDIT-001: Here’s more recent “approved for release (with redacted material) on the project; warning link is NRO site, but legally viewable FOIA doc, per URL and notices on doc: - https://www.nro.gov/Portals/65/documents/foia/declass/ForAll/103122/F-2021-00154_C05136347.pdf https://www.nro.gov/Portals/65/documents/foia/declass/ForAll...
