- phone8675309 4y agoPurely speculative - but perhaps the explosion in GPU power and storage capacity means they can do this processing in house now.
- dylan604 4y agoWere the searches performed by the @home software so extensive that there's no other use for that data, or were there trade offs made for compute time from when it was originally created being too much for the time? So if the software was updated to take advantage of today's compute scanning the same data, would there be any benefit? I seem to recall some results of "AI" searching existing data to find things that were previously missed. Wondering if the same might be true of the SETI@home data.
