Not enough Republicans senators would agree (need 60) for a bill to mandate paid sick leave for the train workers.
- vkou 4y agoThen parade them as the boogieman, fire your friendly press machine on all cylinders, don't just roll over and take the L. ... Or, more likely, the bill went exactly the way he and his backers wanted.

- klyrs 4y agoIt's important to remember who is represented in the US political system. It is a federation of states, whose legislative districts have been heavily gerrymandered.
- vorpalhex 4y agoHe doesn't need it. As POTUS he can choose to not suspend the ability of rail workers to strike and let the workers and rail companies sort it out. That whole capitalism thing? Instead he has used his powers to prevent a rail strike since it would increase the cost of groceries and lead to (short term) grocery shortages.
