CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act [pdf]
- amadeuspagel 4y ago> To prohibit the federal reserve banks from offering certain products or services directly on individual. There's been some movement to letting people have checking accounts directly at the FED recently[1]. It's an obvious idea and the SVB bank run and bailout shows why this makes sense. As for this hysteria about the surveillance state: Should the state not offer any basic service, like the postal system, because offering such services necessarily entails knowing some private things, like who sends mail to whom? Should the postal system also work like the finance system currently works, with the basic infrastructure run by the state, but an individual only able to interact with private post offices?
