VanillaJS/web standards all the way. I love being able ship something knowing exactly what’s going to end up in the browser. I really don’t get the react cargo cult fad, and when it finally dies it won’t be too soon.
- selfmodruntime 4y agoReact will never die. It‘s as pervasive than jQuery and has been for a while now.
- recursive 4y agoI'd settle for the hype levels to reach parity with jQuery.
- chrismsimpson 4y ago“React will never die, just like jQuery”. Lol.
- solumunus 4y agoPlenty to be made contracting legacy jQuery projects.
- klysm 4y agoSounds nice for a solo project.
- chrismsimpson 4y agoYou know react itself is written in something
- klysm 4y agoYes that is true, but I'm not sure what you are insinuating.
- dmak 4y agoI don't get how anyone can build a serious application on vanilla JS. I love vanilla JS, but it would require one to re-invent the wheel to manage all the state. You'll end up borrowing tons of ideas and rolling your own framework. At that point, you might as well have used something like React, Svelte, etc...
- unmole 4y ago> react cargo cult fad React has been around for nearly a decade now.
- JaDogg 4y agoSince I'm not a real frontend developer. I just use bootstrap + jquery. It works fine for personal projects.
