Could this one day be implemented as a chatbot available throughout the docs? Example: I could look up Mapbox Docs, then simply type in what I’m trying to achieve, and get a code snippet with JS Fiddle example generated.
- jasonwcfan 4y agoYep! It could be, though we had to be be very focused on the channel so we started with Slack and Discord. Personally I think there's less value in an interface over the docs vs a community. Engineers might prefer faster answers from docs, but companies are going to prefer having their users in a central place where they can talk to them.
- Bedon292 4y agoHonestly having it in the docs would seem much more interesting. From a user perspective, I try and figure something out and then ask for help right there. Vs having to go somewhere else and then publicly ask the question. And honestly from a company perspective, as long as you are logging the interactions to see how its being used, that is all I would care about. A place where the chat bot answers everything isn't going to build an actual community. Its just going to end up a discord channel that gets muted by the user until they have another question 6 months from now. There won't be an opportunity to talk to those users anyways.
- louison11 4y agoI hear you. But I’ve never joined a Slack or Discord as a way of getting support for a dev product.
