Why so expensive? It’s just a PCIe card, some PCIe switches, and a lot of m.2 slots. I could see a few hundred dollars, but nearly $3k? Why?

Why so expensive? It’s just a PCIe card, some PCIe switches, and a lot of m.2 slots. I could see a few hundred dollars, but nearly $3k? Why?
- ganoushoreilly 4y agoA decent 8 card unit is around a grand, seems within pricing. You also don't have economy of scale with these, they have to recoup engineering / tooling across fewer units and also maintain some sort of margin for operations.
