Given the fact that the losses will not be realised unless depositors massively withdraw (i.e bank run), what is the role of media (including youtube, blogs etc) in this ? If we didn't have a system which deliberately amplifies catchy headlines such as "banks are failing" wouldn't that bank run be avoided ?
