Could this simply be reflecting the popularity of a region? New housing will be constructed in response to more demand, and rents will also go up in respond to demand?
- BenFranklin100 4y agoThis is almost certainly what is happening. All else being equal, developers choose to build new homes in areas that expect will high demand so the can charge the highest rents. There are reasons why developers don’t put up high rises in the middle of a Kansas cornfield miles from the nearest town.
- BurningFrog 4y agoDepends where you are. In California, housing will not be constructed in response to more demand.
