Parse is looking for a Designer/Frontend Engineer

Parse provides cloud services for mobile developers. We write backend code so that mobile developers don’t have to. We are platform company built by developers for developers. We are looking for our first Designer / Frontend Engineer to come and build elegant interfaces that mobile developers will use on a daily basis. In this role, you will own large responsibilities across every piece of the website. You will be the principle frontend guru at the company. At some platform companies, design is an afterthought. At Parse, we believe that designing wonderful developer experiences is key. About Parse: - We move fast. We launched our private beta a little over two months after starting the company. Since then we've signed up over 7,000 developers. We iterate quickly on designs and take a highly analytical approach to testing. - We build products for other passionate developers, and we’re obsessed with making mobile development easier. - All of the founders are very technical engineers who have been early employees or founders at successful startups. About you: - You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing new features, pages, and interfaces on the website. You should be passionate about creating beautiful tools for other developers to use. - You should be an expert at HTML5, CSS, Javascript, cross browser issues, Ruby, Rails, and Photoshop (or some other equivalent design software). You should also have a keen sense of design and take great pride in creating pixel perfect designs. - You should be able to go from ideation to mockups to implementation of a design without blinking. - You should understand best practices for designing landing pages, A/B tests, and increasing conversion rates. - You should have years of experience building production quality web apps. - you should have a degree in Computer Science or related technical field. - Bonus points if you have experience developing mobile applications.
