I don't know what the comparable price is given this is priced in dollars and in the US but compared to a gas boiler in the UK (I know this does cooling as well). The price jump is insane £20k installed is about 10 times the price of a gas boiler. My parents neighbors got a heat pump installed at about that same price so I think it makes sense. Even at 50% the cost of a natural gas boiler it would be at least a decade before it was paid off which I'm not sure how long these things last. Also for the founder there are a lot of companies in Europe selling this type of thing at a similar price.
