  USA is not going to go to war with China over Taiwan. Instead it will just pick up and move "Taiwan" to USA.

    This ignores the physical location of Taiwan and the advantages that this brings. Also ignores having a few million friendly people and a democracy on your side. It’s not just about semiconductors.

    This is like the 'phoney war' phase of WWII. Everybody knows it's coming so they are getting ready for it. Nazi Germany carried out the invasion of Poland on 1 September 1939. The Phoney period began with the declaration of war by the United Kingdom and France against Nazi Germany on 3 September 1939, after which little actual warfare occurred, and ended with the German invasion of France and the Low Countries on 10 May 1940.
