- ChainOfFools 4y agoI wish this was a joke, but I'm already seeing an astonishing resurgence in a form of spam I haven't seen for years, Ukrainian women mail order bride scams.
- 71a54xd 4y agonot a joke.
- adriancr 4y agoThere are many ways this can go, including the happier russian defeat/withdrawal. Why do you fear getting drafted?, do you think war would expand outside?, if so do you think NATO would have any issue defeating russia in its current state that it would resort to draft?, if that's the case, are you of military age and fit enough to serve that the army would actually want you?
- miguelazo 4y ago>Why do you fear getting drafted? Is that a serious question? Do you have any experience with war beyond Call of Duty? >Do you think that NATO will have an issue defeating Russia? Are you aware that Russia is a nuclear power and has stated very clearly that it will respond with nuclear force if its territorial integrity or existence is threatened? And it even possesses hypersonic missiles, which the West does not have?
- adriancr 4y ago> Is that a serious question? Do you have any experience with war beyond Call of Duty? Yes, it is a serious question, I can confidently say you will not get drafted as US citizen. For you to get drafted it would mean US and Russia are at war. If that were to happen then conventionally US would destroy everything Russia has outside its borders very fast. (way too fast to get you drafted). At which point it either turns into MAD and we're all dead or Russia accepts defeat and stays in its borders. So relax, nobody is going to draft you, you might still die if Putin resorts to nukes tomorrow if he has a bad hair day. > Are you aware that Russia is a nuclear power and has stated very clearly that it will respond with nuclear force if its territorial integrity or existence is threatened Yes, but outside nuclear force they're a joke. Also, although I do see Putin wanting to commit suicide, I don't see the rest of his leadership wanting that whatever they may say. > And it even possesses hypersonic missiles, which the West does not have Yes, 'hypersonic' missiles that are regular missiles launched from a MIG that is already hypersonic... it's a very russian solution that NATO can replicate easily. Intercept the MIGs or destroy their air bases and they're no longer a threat. Range is also limited. Russia does like to brag a lot about everything but when push comes to shove they're proven to be extremely lacking, same as their army, I wouldn't view them as a viable threat. Last thing to think about, what's the intercept percentage in ukraine on russian missiles?, 70-80%?, do you think US with current tech could get that to 100%?, if so, wouldn't that make their nuke threats useless?, it's still something to worry but not MAD level anymore.
