Reading the comments here, I think people are missing how many people are losing hearing while aging and how alienating it is. Even if it only works with one speaker at a time, it could mean a massive quality of life improvement for a large and growing share of the population. Sure it won’t solve the issues faced by the deaf community but that’s only a tiny portion of the people handicapped by difficulty hearing.
