- itronitron 4y agoI'm currently homeschooling two teenagers and one of the most interesting aspects for me is learning all the material that I 'supposedly learned' way back when I was in high school. I graduated, went to a great university, and yet virtually all of the stuff that we are learning in the current HS curriculum is new to me despite my having taken the same classes. I honestly don't know how I graduated high school, except to consider that I was very good at parroting back recently received information. Most of what students are learning will be obsolete by the time they enter the job market, but on the plus side they will have forgotten it anyway. The most important thing from my perspective is ensuring that those topics don't use up too much of their time as I think most intelligent people are able to acquire the knowledge and skills they need as they come to need it.
