Ask HN: What closed-source license can work for a business like renting plugins?

Lets say there are open-source options for a niche market but you see business potential in offering a closed source library to do the same (or slightly more) but more "solid" for production conditions (scale/load/network volume, etc). What kind of licensing should one use for a business model that wants to scale with this? Let's say for 1 plugin running in 1 container it has to pay a yearly renewable licensing fee of X. For 42 of these it would be x42 (or whatever proportion/discount of that gets negotiated). I have no experience with software licensing and several plugin ideas to experiment to see if they have business potential but they will need a solid license. I'd appreciate the advice of who does.
