I've seen a lot of heat pump hype lately but it's usually around heating your home, but I live in Florida. Is there any benefit to this for people in warm clima

I've seen a lot of heat pump hype lately but it's usually around heating your home, but I live in Florida. Is there any benefit to this for people in warm climates? My understanding is that the cooling part of an AC unit is already a heat pump.
