  Just that investors, board members, executives, etc are individuals who are subject to fashion trends in organization design and feel strongly that their organizations should look a certain way at whatever time. For some, it’s earnest belief that the design is effective and for others it’s just signaling that they’re willing to play game and not upset apple carts unnecessarily. Regardless, these fashion trends are real and can’t be rejected lightly. As mentioned, they’re just part of operating at a certain scale.
