  Making holding the data more expensive that any revenue gained from selling "insights" of the data.

    I like this. I was thinking of disconnecting identity from transactions but I am not sure that is technically feasible without introducing anonymizing middlemen functions who know can verify and transfer the funds without releasing info about originating account holder. Pipe dream probably.

      Middlemen would likely sell to the companies or be puppets from the outset.
