More and more I'm buying larger ticket items either locally or at single-focus retailers (like B&H, Adorama, Sweetwater, Ohio Power Tool) where there's better customer service as well as far more knowledgeable staff and customers (reviews from seasoned pros, not shit-posts based on an inability to figure something out). Oh and fraud is clearly a growing problem as well. Last summer I needed to buy an SSD replacement for a 2015 MacBook Pro. I tried three times on Amazon and had to return all three. Paying 60% more to buy direct from OWC ended up being the right way to go.
