Weren't we amazed a couple of months back when menuetos managed to get audio latency down to 1ms? Yes this is ridiculous but latency does exist and is quite perceivable.
- brokenmachine 4y agoLatency only matters if you're trying to sync to video. If it's just music then who cares if it's playing 40ms later?
- swatcoder 4y agoWell that, or if you’re trying to sync to your own hands or any other things in the real world, like other people’s instruments. It matters quite a lot for effects processing and synthesized instruments.
- brokenmachine 4y agoBut we're talking about audiophiles, not musicians. Sync doesn't matter for listening to music.
