Chinese phones with extremely large batteries have been around for years. The Ulefone Power range have batteries up to 12,000 mAh for instance. My Power 5 lasts about 3 weeks on a charge and it's ~3 years old, loaded with apps and I play about 10 hours of podcasts a week. I got 7 weeks out of it when it was brand new and it only had a couple of messaging apps. Jank from flashing a clean ROM and no clear update path is the price you have to pay though.
