How exactly would we be buying other countries with the annual $T trade deficit? No, you have the actual numbers reversed.
- astrange 4y agoThat's how the financial empire works. It's free stuff at the casino to keep them coming back. Sure they take the USD we print for them, but then what are they going to do with it? Keep it in US bank accounts.
- the_optimist 4y agoIf we net sell equity, borrow, and debase our currency, this is not “financial empire.” This is the reverse of financial empire. There is no “free stuff” and no “keep them coming back.” We are simultaneously depleting equity through IP, physical capacity and capabilities, and direct sales.
- astrange 4y agoEquity, currency, that's all stuff we made up. Accepting them as real means using our courts and banking system.
