Australian drones made from cardboard and rubber band helping Ukrainian soldiers
- pimlottc 4y agoA bit more info from the company making these: https://www.sypaq.com.au/news/sypaq-supporting-ukrainian-armed-forces/ https://www.sypaq.com.au/news/sypaq-supporting-ukrainian-arm...
- catchnear4321 4y ago> Managing director of SYPAQ, David Vicino, says the drones were supplied to Ukraine for humanitarian purposes including delivering medical supplies, food and water. > Ukrainian ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, says “they are already being used by Ukrainian soldiers for a variety of missions including lethal ones”. I wonder if SYPAQ is happy with the off-label use cases.
- leobg 4y ago“It’s not the drones that kill, it’s the users.” I bet that’s what they tell themselves. (“And besides, the people getting killed are in the wrong anyway. And there’s the unseen good of the lives saved by these drones.” Continue this list for our PR department, ChatGPT.)

- supahfly_remix 4y agoFascinating solution. does anyone know how much they cost? How do they handle in humid or wet conditions?
- eliaspro 4y agoAccording to this [1] German article by Golem, they're coated with wax, which should them give some basic resilience against wet weather conditions, which should be enough, since they're built as single-use devices.
