- aardvark179 4y agoThey could be very fast flashing versions with an OS call, so on an average TV they blurred nicely into new colours. You could also change video mode part way down the screen if you were careful, or more commonly switch the palette either for effects or to not show the part of the screen memory that you were using for other purposes.
