Prior to joining SVB as Chief Administrative Officer, Gentile worked as Chief Financial Officer at Lehman Brothers' Global Investment Bank. Gentile left Lehman in 2007, just one year before it went bankrupt in 2008.
- toomuchtodo 4y agoHe was CAO of SVB Securities, a previously independent bank acquired by SVB in 2019, becoming one of three subsidiaries owned by SVB. Unlike SVB, it continues to operate.
- aaomidi 4y agoFollowing the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in March 2023, the management of SVB Securities planned to buy back their firm from the parent group. Not really sure how much of an influence they had in the lobbying, but still hilarious.
