A Window into the Medieval Mind
- _a_a_a_ 4y agoA vaguely interesting discussion on cathedrals, certainly no 'Window into the Medieval Mind'
- jurimasa 4y agoThe cathedrals are the window, bro.
- _a_a_a_ 4y agoGrand. Happy to learn from you then. Other than the financial cost, and the already well-known implication that mediaeval Europeans were very religious, what new information did this article give?
- _a_a_a_ 4y agoI can't learn from downvotes alone. Pls explain what I missed in the article because I genuinely don't know.
- velcrovan 4y agoIf you are interested in an actual “window into the medieval mind”, I have found none better than C.S. Lewis’s little-known book “The Discarded Image”. It is well-sourced, comprehensive, crunchy, and extremely readable. https://portalconservador.com/livros/C-S-Lewis-The-Discarded-Image.pdf https://portalconservador.com/livros/C-S-Lewis-The-Discarded...
- Mistletoe 4y agoWhat does crunchy mean with regard to a book?
- zabzonk 4y agoi'm not really clear what this article is trying to say, but european cathedrals are beautiful buildings. i have no religous beliefs whatsoever, but living less than a mile from lincoln (uk) cathedral it always cheers me up to see it.
