Yes! I'm a long-time lurker here on HN and have somehow resisted the urge to join, even when someone was "wrong on the internet", but this is the final straw :) I'm one half of a London-based rock duo called Automatic Panic [0] and would love to chat about our approach to making music. In fact, we're running a little blog series on this very topic right now [1]. We love experimenting with how recording techniques affect performances and how the finished music then comes across. A lot of our stuff is recorded to and mixed from tape. We self-record everything and have done so wherever there's a good enough acoustic.
