This is insane. Driving throughout the US, there are many places where you are emergency weather broadcasts go via AM. And those places don't have cellular reception. So my Weather app on my iPhone will not be able to warn me. (hell, even if I open the app, it loads the data, I turn on airplane mode, force-close, reopen, it shows me 'Weather unavailable' ...) How much are they saving?
