Beautifully written and I'm happy there was a positive outcome in this instance. I feel like most of us have a similar story. I don't know if it's unique to tech, but every team I've been a part of has had a "well everyone who originally built this product left and we don't really know how to manage it so it's just sort of hobbling along but management won't prioritize decommissioning or supporting it so it keeps all of us up at night." Do other industries have this issue? How can we fix this problem?
