They were not a mistake, people just need to grok them better. You need to embrace functional purity.
- notpachet 4y agoBut hooks enable the creation of components that are often the antithesis of functional purity. Side-effects out the wazoo. It's like carbon credits for functional purity rather than the real thing. People just feel better being able to say that they're using a function component.
- rads 4y agoHooks encapsulate mutable state. It’s not much different than object-oriented programming with a different syntax.
