  It gives and it takes. My dad was drafted and sent to Vietnam. He spoke fluent French (spoken there) so you think they’d have had him use his language skills but some officer didn’t like the looks of him and busted him down to cook in Saigon, he was released a year early and was lucky to experience nothing bad. His little brother Joey was a marine and got real messed up, spent some time in a mental hospital in Japan. A lady down the road who works in HR now ran a field gas station in Iraq and like my dad avoided the worst, she’s got a friend who had a much harder time and rides horses at our place to deal with his trauma.
