Throwaway for raw honesty. I've worked under an engineering leader for a few years now that I think must get a bonus to meet every quarterly goal. Others must also, based on their behavior around these events. I've felt the weight of the team being so understaffed for the workload for so long that I've pendulum swung from high morale (i.e this is important good work) to such an abyss of low morale. I'm having a hard time shaking it and I could really stand to be more productive on things I find interesting and important about the work. I guess this article resonated with me enough to post about it. Makes you weary after awhile.
