Yeah that's weird to me too; the Beaglebone's claim to fame has been acres of GPIOs with powerful PRUs behind 'em. Even if it needs some fine-pitch Samtec daughterboard to break 'em out, just putting some of those GPIOs on a connector _somewhere_ would be nice. Nobody's gonna drive a CNC machine with this, that's for sure.
