Could I make copies of my housekey instead of going to the hardware store? Could reprep do this? That's the only one I could afford.
- replicatorblog 18y agoCNC Milling would be the better choice for copying keys, those machines are actually starting to become MUCH more affordable. The Craftsman Compucarve only lets you mill wood at this point, but it is in the low single digit thousands price wise.
- tel 18y agoThe RepRap machine uses polymer extrusion to draw your model, which wouldn't yet work for keys. If it's a good lock, you'd get a couple of uses out of it, but the pins would destroy your key and the torsion would bend it.
