- daavidhauser 4y agotoo bad i simply can’t stand the way he talks :( am i the only one?
- Cthulhu_ 4y agoProbably not, I dislike video / audio as a means to explain and update things, I'll watch the news (because the video adds to the story) but I'd rather have a text version if it's about software things.
- melling 4y agoSomething grating going on with him. I think it might be the way he tries to make it sound exciting for a general audience.
- jasode 4y ago>I think it might be the way he tries to make it sound exciting for a general audience. Looking at other videos of Károly Zsolnai-Fehér speaking at a podium to an audience, I think he's genuinely enthusiastic about the subject instead of putting on an act. However, when combining that unusual enthusiasm with a Hungarian accent, some listeners may find it odd sounding. - hungryforcodes 4y ago"Two Minute Papers"... ...ironically in video format.
- gs17 4y agoThat's not ironic to me, the intent seemed to be "papers presented in two minutes", although maybe there's some irony in exceeding that length in every video?
- hungryforcodes 4y agoSure.
- satvikpendem 4y agoWhat is the irony?
- manv1 4y agoa paper in video format? I actually hate videos, it's easier for me to read than to listen to someone taking 5 minutes to explain a paragraph's worth of stuff. "It's longer because monetization."
- satvikpendem 4y agoHow is that ironic? I wonder if people actually know the meaning of irony these days.
- hungryforcodes 4y agoDefinition: "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result" A YouTube vblog calling itself two minute papers seems pretty ironic to me. The word "papers" is key here.
- satvikpendem 4y agoIt discusses papers in two minutes, not sure how that's ironic at all, unless you are deliberately expecting that a YouTube channel somehow has written papers rather than videos. These papers would also take one longer than two minutes to read and might not have context from someone in the field, so I'm happy for the expert to go over it for me.
