  Interestingly enough, the guaraná soda doesn't contain a lot of caffeine: just 2mg per 350ml can.

    You can buy the dehydrated seed here in Brazil in drugstores, specially the smaller stores. Some truckers use it all the time, under the tongue, to avoid controlled meds as well. I'll try to mix with my mate, never tried. :)

      I used to buy it in powder form in a drugstore near uni. It didn't dissolve well in water, in my experience, but was quite effective.
