The article talks about options (english meaning) as in the developer is choosing to model his program to use a combination of these registers. Unfortunately, that is exactly my problem. __There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it.__
- steveklabnik 4y agoThat is a useful design maxim, but the problem is that in a "systems language," it is difficult if not impossible, in my opinion, to achieve. The closer you get to physical reality, the harder it is to be able to fit the world into your model, and you need to fit your model to the world. In Rust, unsafe is the way to manage this difficult set of tradeoffs
